In a bizarre political development, Michael Steele, the Republican US Senate candidate in Maryland, bashes Bush and the Republican Party. I know Maryland is a deep-blue state, and Steele does have to pander to the anti-Bush vote to a certain extent, but did he have to go this far? I fear that he may have torpedoed his chances for victory in November. More from Red State and National Review.

I wish I could say I was really surprised. But anyone who tries to “reach out” by going on that so-called show by Bill Maher doesn’t seem to have a clue that you aren’t going to win anyone over by trying to cowtow. I think we can safely say that Obama will be the only black senator in the next congressional session.
